About LULAC

LULAC is the largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization in the United States. It was founded in 1929 to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights of the Hispanic population in the U.S.

Each LULAC council is a local chapter that operates within a specific community and is affiliated with the national organization. LULAC Council 4971 represents the Temple, Texas area, and its activities would focus on addressing the needs and concerns of the community.
