Contest Guidelines

Eligibility

• All Chihuahuas, regardless of age or size, are welcome to participate in the contest.

• Each Chihuahua must be accompanied by their owner or handler throughout the event.

• Only purebred Chihuahuas are eligible to enter the competition.

Registration

• All participants must complete an application form before the event begins.

• A registration fee of $30 is required and must be paid in advance.

Costume Requirements

• Costumes must be safe, comfortable, and suitable for the dog.

• Costumes must not contain sharp objects, toxic materials, or anything that could potentially harm the pet.

• Outfits should allow the dog to move freely and must not restrict breathing or vision.

Behavior

• All dogs must remain on a leash or in a carrier at all times during the event.

• Aggressive or disruptive behavior will result in disqualification from the contest.

• Owners are responsible for ensuring their pet’s safety and proper conduct.

Judging Criteria

• Creativity and originality of the costume, especially in representing Mexico, will be considered.

• The overall presentation and theme will be evaluated.

• Judges will assess how well the costume fits the dog.

• Interaction between the dog and the audience or judges is part of the scoring.

• Best singer will also be recognized.

Owner Responsibilities

• Owners must supervise their pets at all times during the contest.

• Owners are required to clean up after their pets.

• Pets must be healthy and current on their vaccinations.Consent

• Owners must agree to photography and video recording throughout the event.

• A signed waiver releasing the organizers from liability is required.
